Sherwood Garden Consultancy

About me

Sherwood Garden Consultancy is a garden design and garden-making company. I create gardens and outdoor spaces to connect people, places, and nature.

I have been making gardens and growing fruit and vegetables for many years. In 2020, after 25 years of work in health and social care, I consolidated my RHS L2 qualification in plant and garden design, attended courses and workshops with garden designer Adam Frost and worked on my Diploma in Garden Design. Through my company I have realised my dream in creating gardens for people, the community and nature.

How I work

My team are experienced, RHS-qualified horticulturists who share a passion for creating beautiful restorative, natural gardens.

In our work, we use local materials and growers wherever possible and develop partnerships with trusted craftsmen and women who share our values to enable us to offer you a whole garden solution from design through to build and aftercare. We seek to create nature-rich gardens and outdoor spaces connecting people, places, and nature.

I have a real passion for bringing nature into gardens ensuring nature and biodiversity are at the heart of all my designs. Whether that's a wildlife garden complete with wildlife ponds or an individual plant design, maximising pollinators, the longevity of seasons, and opportunity for wildlife.

I follow the ethics of sustainability and aim to increase biodiversity through designs and planting. Wherever possible I work with hand or electric tools.  I am an organic gardener, I do not use pesticides and I recycle or give away all our used plant pots to avoid landfill.

β€œIt’s been an absolute pleasure having Andy create our wildlife pond. From start to finish he has been so knowledgeable, experienced, and professional in working with us to create this beautiful space.”
